In my opinion, each of Takahashigun’s secret collections is like a snowball world where clothes and themes change, but a sense of wonder and loss is constant. This season, in honor of his 35 years of fashion, the designer re-recommended his fall 2004 collection. Not only does he iterate over the designs of the past, but the cast includes models walking in a beautiful performance 21 years ago, Takahashi once again collaborated with French artist Anne-Valérie Dupond, who made masks, animal claws, accessories, accessories and patchwork for the scene. In the fall of 2025, DuPont has handmade seven pairs of shoes and a souvenir made in the form of a skull-shaped bag.

Nicole Phelps, who reviewed the show, wrote: “It produces profound ideas in the audience about the bitter and joyful effects of time.” One way to do so is to refer to things with ephemeral beauty. Prints with flowers and butterflies, candle fire and drifting feathers. The deliciousness of these references is offset by military-style jackets, some are medals, some are written with signs like “Don’t Touch Me” and “Loser”, and Franken Stan Stan patchwork. The limits of systems people build are everywhere. Takahashi seems to object by introducing stuffed animals (probably a symbol of children’s innocence) and references to the animal world. Independent from each other, Takahashi and DuPont (with creative freedom) made a veterinarian, which included majestic poultry, modest songbirds, plush bears and rabbits, deer, owls, cats, crows and spiders. “Our dreams (or nightmare) must be connected,” the artist said in an online exchange, writing birds as “talking about beauty and freedom, contrary to the gravity of the real world.”

DuPont’s practice was developed from attempts to use stuffed animals as toys. Comments on her past exhibitions and collaborations suggest that it is said to be the core of her work, aesthetically the baroque blends the baroque in conjunction with native craftsmanship. “My work draws on childhood – on wounds, desire for repairs.” Her stitched body is one of the ways she consciously sees “the ladies’ work” as a mean idea. Together, Takahashi and DuPont helped us imagine a world where the world is more powerful than the sword.

Below, DuPont talks about her practice and collaboration with the undercover and shares detailed images of the magic slippers she made.
