On a clear and clear October morning, guests were filled with churches near their grandparents’ house. The bride shared: “It’s a place to enter my childhood, where we celebrate Christmas, baptism, weddings, and even farewells to our loved ones.” The couple decided to meet each other in the church for the first time, singing in a chorus of 18 people. “A moment felt like falling in love again,” Andrea recalls. “As I walked down the road and met his gaze, all the nerves disappeared. It was a reaffirmation of the love for us, our commitment, and the life we were going to build together.” The bride noted that the exchange of rings was a particularly profound moment for her at the ceremony. She shared: “It’s a weird feeling that a simple piece of metal can bring us together, our Cartier Alliance 1895 band, each of which has a simple and profound commitment: “Always on him” and “Forever.”
The newlyweds and their guests then head to the family home, which is the perfect party. “The process of the evening is designed to encourage movement and discovery,” Andrea said. “Guests hide a Martini bar in the kitchen pantry of the past, where they can see my cousin’s height and date on the door frame.” Live jazz in the solarium floats through the house, while Vivian Suter paintings provide a focal point in the soft room. “Even if two of our grandparents are no longer with us, sometimes it feels like we’re doing some pranks to get rid of it,” Andrea added. The cocktail hour takes place in the back garden where lush greenery, white flowers and checkered floors provide a relaxing space for conversation. “There was later taken to the front garden for dinner, where the tables (the dining tables were all dressed in Portuguese linen and embroidered napkins, featuring our monograms – under the rose gold tones of my grandmother’s Chinese flame tree.”
Music is an outstanding element of the couple’s celebration. “From Cornelia Murr’s ethereal live performance during lunch to our first dance to Elvis Presley’s (Benjamin’s surprise)’s “Can’t help falling in love), each song is deliberately chosen to create a feeling, memory in memory,” Andrea shares. “Some guests are confident at different moments and can play the piano freely.” After serving pizza at midnight, the party was taken to the basement, which has been transformed into a hidden nightclub. “The lighting is warm and intimate, and the music curated by Arman Nafeei makes the mood perfect,” the bride shared. “It’s pure magic to see our friends and family dancing, laughing and being completely immersed in this moment. We dance until 5 a.m.!”
Most importantly, Andrea remembers her love in the air at night on her wedding. “Everyone is the protagonist, and the stories we hear make us feel like we have created something eternal,” she said. “The day is not just about the details of beauty; everyone can be safely themselves and have meaning, history and love.”
