Her work also stems from personal connections: since the teenager is in line with his father’s homeland, Paraíba. This emotional and family bond nourishes an artistic and spiritual pursuit, leading to the “OS Encantados,” a project at the intersection of photography, verbal storytelling and historical anthropological analysis. This work sheds light on the history, struggle and spirituality of the jury that makes the community possible while challenging the dominant narrative of Brazilian identity. It celebrates a lively heritage and pays homage to those who live, defend and dream of this land, a world that is both obsessed and deeply rooted in reality. ”

Romane replays specific rituals and stories that also go beyond the boundaries and solve problems about migration and exile. The photographer created the plastic form that allowed her to subvert the documentary’s code.
