Tatcha’s The Dewy Skin Cream has been named Best Day Care at the 2026 ELLE International Beauty Awards, giving one of the brand’s most recognisable products a fresh piece of international editorial recognition.
The official winners list places the moisturiser in the face-care category alongside Bioderma’s Sensibio H2O, Sisley’s Sisleÿa l’Intégral Anti-Âge Longevity Essential Serum and Aesop’s Lucent Facial Refiner. Across the wider programme, 20 products were selected in makeup, face care, nails, body care, hair care, fragrance and green beauty.
A moisturiser built around the finish
The product’s appeal is unusually easy to read on the skin. It has the cushion of a rich cream, but its defining feature is the polished, light-catching finish it leaves behind. That makes it as much a makeup-preparation product as a conventional moisturiser—a useful crossover at a time when skin care and complexion makeup increasingly share the same visual language.
The formula combines hyaluronic acid, red algae and Japanese purple rice. ELLE editors highlighted the silky texture and the fresh, dewy result, particularly when the cream is worn beneath makeup. The award therefore reads less like a prize for novelty than recognition of a product that delivers a distinct texture and finish consistently.
Why an established product still stood out
Beauty awards often favour the newest launch on the shelf. The Dewy Skin Cream is a more interesting winner because it is already a known quantity: a signature product with an established following, a clear place in Tatcha’s range and a recognisable point of view. Its win suggests that familiarity is not a disadvantage when the product experience remains specific enough to be remembered.
For retailers, the distinction gives the cream another proof point in an increasingly crowded premium-moisturiser category. For consumers, the useful part of the citation is more practical. The product was recognised for comfort, hydration and finish—not for an inflated promise to transform every skin concern at once.
What the award says—and what it does not
The ELLE International Beauty Awards are an editorial honour. The result reflects the judgement of beauty editors working across ELLE’s international editions; it is not a clinical certification, and it does not make the cream universally suitable for every complexion or routine.
What the win does establish is a clear international consensus around the product’s strongest qualities. In a year crowded with elaborate claims and fast-moving launches, a well-made moisturiser won on something more immediate: how it feels, how it sits on the skin and how convincingly it creates the finish promised on the jar.
